Children of Advent

Here’s my “advent calender”

I’m writing full character profiles (each one ranging from 3-5 pages long) over this here December, based on all the notes I spent the last couple of months accumulating. If you’re curious, I had enough (shorthand) notes to fill a small novel o_O

I picked them out of a hat (well, pouch), if you’re wondering. It made it more exciting.

indeed, you’ve got the teachers in this too, it’ll be interesting to know about their pasts and such. :)

6-10 pages of writing per day. Whoah. And it’s mostly just rewriting stuff that’s already been defined. Good luck.

Ooh, this’ll be interesting. Looking forward to it.

How’s this rather ambitious workload going, I know I couldn’t manage it XD

I’m…picking at it. I’ve done around 20 of them so far, so I’m behind schedule, but some take a lot more work that others. It can be quite overwhelming to shift through 4-5 pages of notes for a single character! And, as is standard, my health waxes and wanes, so there are days I hardly achieve anything.

And once I’ve got everything down, I have to go through it all again to finalise the details and make sure everything is consistent and that any plot-important past events are fully fleshed out, with dates and everything. It might sound like obsessive detailing, but it’s an important part of world building.

This is the important stuff that takes authors years to sort out before they even publish their first book, J.K Rowling took 10 years from idea to book one.
its all in the details, they are what separates a good story to an awesome one :)

Dary! I hope you’re about to be taking a nice, relaxing break, regardless of how much you still have left to do. You marked tomorrow and Sunday as empty, so I expect you to spend that time having fun with your family instead of stressing over thousands of minute details.

For the new site and new updates, we have waited months. We will wait more rather than hear tell of your collapse in a bid to provide us faster.
